Your Hosts

Hi, We're Jason and Annelise!

We're an Australian family who have been homeschooling and slow travelling since 2022 with our 4 children.

Our favourite thing to do is rent an apartment in a city or town we've never been to, and settle ourselves there for a month or more.

We get to make friends with the local vendors, explore deeply and truly experience a taste of the culture. We created Worldschool Hubs to share this with you.

When we travel, we work and school as we go. It's not a holiday, it's a way of life. We also love being home for a few months a year to see family and friends, and plug back into the more location dependant activities the kids love.

Our online business is what allows us to travel this way. Annelise is an online business mentor, and together we run a marketing agency. We also host the annual, virtual Worldschool Summit.

If you're interested in worldschooling but not yet ready to dive in - the summit it great place to start.

Can't wait to connect!

FAQ

How do your hubs work?

Our hubs are small, laid-back multi-week events where families come together to relax, play, and explore in one location. We provide an itinerary with suggestions, but the main goal is to offer space and time for families to connect while traveling.

You choose where to stay, how to get around, and how involved you want to be in the activities. Pop-ups are flexible—sometimes the group swaps planned activities for spontaneous meals or impromptu beach trips.

What’s a typical pop-up like?

Usually, it starts with a casual meet-and-greet event to get to know everyone.

Families can then join activities as they feel like it. It’s all about enjoying the company and making new memories, with no strict schedule to follow.

Can I attend part of the pop-up?

Absolutely! But the fee remains the same. Feel free to join for as many days as work for you.

You’ll still get access to the full schedule, and chat groups, whether you attend for a day or the entire time.

How many families join?

Typically up to 10 families at each event, though some may be smaller or larger.

What is the best age for kids to attend?

All kids from babies to teens are welcome!

Are the activities flexible?

Totally! If your family needs a slow morning, nap time, or a full day off, no worries. The schedule is built to be adapted to your needs. It’s all about making the experience work for you and your family, no matter the age of your kids.

What’s included in the fee?

Your family ticket gives you our full itinerary, access to a private group for communication, and the opportunity to meet and explore with other worldschoolers. You’ll need to arrange your own accommodation, transport, meals, and entrance fees for certain attractions.

Can we see the itinerary before deciding?

While we don’t share detailed itineraries outside of registered attendees, we do provide a general list of activities on each event’s page. If you have specific questions, feel free to reach out, and we’ll do our best to help!

Itineraries are finalised 3 weeks prior to the event.

What’s the pop-up fee?

It’s $350 USD per family. This covers parents, kids, and even extended adult family members like grandparents or a special friend.

Is the fee refundable?

Fees are non-refundable, but if plans change, we offer 50% credit if you cancel more than 4 weeks from the event.
